The Palace of Versailles: what to know
Home to Louis XIV from 1682, the Palace of Versailles is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Hall of Mirrors, 73 metres long, remains its most famous room — it was there that the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919. The King's and Queen's State Apartments complete a visit to the main building.
The estate is far larger than the palace itself. The gardens laid out by André Le Nôtre cover several hundred hectares, and the Trianon estate contains the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet, the model village created for Marie-Antoinette. Setting aside a full day is not excessive.
The palace is usually closed on Mondays, and the Musical Fountains Shows run only in season, on selected days. Check the official website before booking your transfer — we set the pick-up time around your visit slot.
Why a private transfer rather than the RER
Versailles has three railway stations — Versailles Château-Rive Gauche (RER C), Versailles-Chantiers and Versailles Rive Droite — but none connects directly to Disneyland Paris. The journey means travelling into Paris, crossing the city, then taking RER line A eastwards: close to two hours with two changes, stairs and luggage included.
By private car the same trip is made in one go, in about an hour depending on traffic. That matters most with tired children after a day of sightseeing, or when combining the palace in the morning with the parks in the afternoon.
For a flight from Orly, Versailles is barely twenty minutes away: it is the natural airport from this part of the Yvelines, and considerably cheaper than a transfer to Charles de Gaulle.
Practical advice
Parking around the palace is limited and chargeable, especially in high season. Being dropped at the Place d'Armes, in front of the main gates, saves circling for a space and then walking with pushchairs.
If you are combining Versailles and Disneyland on the same day, book both journeys together: we collect you at the end of your visit, at a time you choose, without depending on train timetables.
We also serve Le Chesnay, Viroflay, Saint-Cyr-l'École, Buc and Jouy-en-Josas, as well as Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau for multi-château tours.
Everything you need on board
Small touches that make the journey easier — all included, at no extra cost.
Bottled water

Sweets
A few treats to hand, for waiting in traffic or keeping younger passengers happy.

Cables for every model, so you reach the airport with a fully charged phone.
Tourist brochures
Guides to Paris, Disneyland Paris and the Seine-et-Marne area, yours to take away.
